NQ CLARIFIER AIR TREATMENT SYSTEMS Function: The complete IAQ solution for commercial/residential IAQ concerns. Models: NQ Commercial Clarifier Technology: Certified HEPA Filter, UV Lamps, and Patented Carbon Blend HEPA: the 14 inch diameter cylinder has 180 pleats of a special non-outgassing HEPA media. The HEPA media tested and rated at 99.97% efficient at 0.3 microns. Foam sealing gaskets at inlet and outlet of the filter ensures that the airflow is through the filter and not around the edges. Activated Carbon: 10 pounds of specially formulated indoor air quality (IAQ) carbon adsorption granules as well as a second adsorptive media with 2 pounds of pulverized activated carbon post filter media. This combination has 3,290,000 square feet of total adsorptive surface area (80% more than other materials) for the best gas and chemical removal on the market today. The main adsorptive power comes from a patented granule specially designed to oxidize gaseous pollutants such as: hydrogen sulfide, sulfur dioxide, formaldehyde, ethylene, mercaptans, various aldehydes, and alcohols. This formulation provides 50% more active ingredients and reagents without the dust of other products, therefore cleaning the air of gaseous pollutants while also not adding to the dust and small breathable particles in the air. Also, 20% more dense and sorptive power than other compounds or treated carbons UV: Two 9 watt lamps, hidden from view, produce the germicidal irradiation which is used in many hospital operating rooms world wide, to kill germs, yeasts, viruses and bacteria. Total irradiation power is 12,762 m -watt-sec/cm squared. Applications: Doctors offices, dental offices, Hospitals (waiting areas, low risk infection control areas), commercial offices, schools, day-care centers, beauty salons, homes, and more. Any application needing the most versatile and complete air cleaner on the market today. Recommended ACH: 6+ ACH Features/Advantages: Prefiltering System: Pre-filter is made of a carbon impregnated pad which is easily removed, cleaned and/or replaced, for protecting the continued long life of the more expensive HEPA and carbon filters. This prefilter can be vacuumed to extend its life. Unit Efficiency (HEPA): Like most high efficiency units on the market, our units filters are 99.97% efficient at .3 microns. This is as good or better than the standard efficiency for the filters used in most of the units on the market today. Basically, this refers to the efficiency of the media paper in the unit, not the entire filter. Many competitors say their units are HEPA filters. This is not true, however, in that yes they use HEPA media in their filters, but the actual efficiency of the filter and the unit is much, much worse. This explains why commercial grade air cleaners are not used in hospitals for infection control. The filters are not sufficiently glued to the frame of the filter, and not gasketed within the unit. This means there is lot of air bypassing the filter altogether, and even air within the filter can bypasses the media. Therefore, given the substantial air leakage, the overall efficiency of the filter is terrible. Our filters are actually dipped and glued with endoplasm on each end of the filter to prevent leakage within the filter. Furthermore, each filter is tested to perform at the rated efficiency, ensuring against air bypass and leakage. They are also gasketed within the cabinet, and force of the fan deck, which is resting on the filter, creates an excellent seal. The air entering the unit is therefore forced to travel through the filter, where the contaminants can be removed. With this system, we have had particle count field tests internationally at times showing the unit efficiency to be 99.97% at .3 microns, making it unlike any other commercial air cleaner. UV: Our UV Dosage is over 12,000 micro-watt seconds per cm2, which is more than enough UV dosage to destroy even TB. UV destroys not only bacteria, but also viruses, which cannot be trapped by media filters (even HEPA filters). This is an important difference between our unit and other units media filter on the market: bacteria/virus destruction. Other "UV" units on the market say they can destroy bacteria, but many are misleading, because they simply have one small UV lamp that has little UV intensity in a fast air stream. UV dosage is a function of not only the intensity of the light, but also the residence time the bacteria has exposed to the light. Air flow plays a key role in this calculation. Our units have been carefully calculated to create the listed UV dosage. Most other units have UV merely to prevent mold and bacteria growth on filters. This is evident given most units say they have enough UV light to kill bacteria, but they will not list the actual UV dosage. The effectiveness of UV is minimal unless you have the necessary dosage. Carbon: A units ability to remove odors and noxious gases directly relates to the amount of carbon that the unit has. The more carbon a unit has, the more odors/gases it can remove. Most competitive units typically only have 1 to 5 lbs. of carbon, while the Clarifier has over 10 lbs. of carbon. This means that after a short while, the unit will be incapable of removing any more odors. Furthermore, we use a patented blend of carbon, which is capable of picking up a wider range of contaminants that standard activated carbon cannot remove. The Clarifier can effectively remove gases like carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, formaldehyde, ether, laughing gas, mercury, etc.. Independent Carbon Filter: One of the most important aspects of our carbon filter is its separation from the HEPA filter. Most units on the market today that contain higher amounts of carbon (5 lbs. of more) have a carbon/HEPA module, in which the carbon and HEPA technologies are contained in the same filter. The problem with such a design is that whereas a HEPA filter containing sufficient surface area will last one to three years, carbon will typically become saturated within a years time. This means that at least once per year, in order to maintain unit efficiency, the entire HEPA/Carbon filter module must be replaced due to the carbon (even though the HEPA likely does not to be changed). This adds significantly to the maintenance costs of the air cleaner. However, with the newly designed HEPA and carbon filters in the NQ Clarifier, the carbon filter is independent of the HEPA filter (it fits as a ring around the HEPA filter). Therefore, the carbon filter can be replaced as needed, without having to also replace the HEPA filter. This saves in consumer replacement costs, in that yearly replacement costs will be lowered because the HEPA and carbon will not always have to be purchased together (and the cost of just the carbon is less than a HEPA/Carbon module) Air Flow Pattern: The NQ Clarifier sets up an excellent air flow pattern, unlike other units on the market today. Our unique top-flow discharge was modeled after our medical product line. Upward air discharge more completely mixes the air in a room by using the ceiling and upper spaces of the room to completely distribute the air to all areas. When air flow patterns move across the ceiling and upper spaces there is no furniture in the way to short circuit the air back to the filter unit. When there is no short circuiting of the air, the mixing of all the air is more complete and therefore the filter unit is twice as effective with less drafts, than all the side, bottom or front air discharge type units, on the market today. This top discharge allows higher airflow rates to better clean the air rapidly with complete mixing, resulting in cleaner and purer air to breathe throughout the room. An air cleaner can use the best cleaning technology in the world, but unless all the air in the room is passing through the unit, the overall effectiveness is minimized. Amenities: Units include indicator lights for easy UV and filter maintenance. Also have full variable speed control and a low noise level. |
