NQ500 DESIGN SPECIFICATION
We believe it is important to configure the Ultra Violet lights and HEPA filter as we do. There are some HEPA units on the market that do provide some UVGI, but they are at a low dose level that serves only to disinfect the inlet to the HEPA filter, and not to provide full (99+%) destruction of the Tuberculosis bacilli in the air stream.
We suggest as a specification for your spec book, the following:
The air treatment system shall be mobile or wall mounted and have the following construction:
The case shall be of 18 gauge steel and baked enamel, powder coat painted.
For the mobile configuration - Wheels shall be roller bearing rubber, 3.5 inch diameter with 2 caster and two fixed position and be located such that the rolling of the unit, without unplugging it, shall not harm the power cord connectors or interior wiring.
For the wall-mounted configuration - the unit shall be fitted with 4 straight legs that raise the unit 4-1/2" off the floor. The unit shall also have a 1" wall mounting lip at the top of the unit that is used to fasten the unit to the wall.
The unit shall include both full UVGI treatment with at least 43,000 m W-sec’s/cm2 and a full 12" deep HEPA filter (certified at 99.97% DOP) of high-flow design, rated at 500 fpm or more. Maximum face velocity of the HEPA filter shall not be greater than 250 fpm.
The unit shall measure no more than 13"x26"x78". Height shall not be less than 75".
The unit shall contain a 12"x12"x2" pre-filter of at least 30% ASHRAE rating.
The unit shall contain an additional 12"x24"x4" pleated high loft for filtering air passing over the UV lamps, of at least 30% ASHRAE rating.
The unit shall contain readily available consumable filters of industry standard sizes.
The unit shall include a differential pressure gauge that measures the pressure between the room and the pressure side of the HEPA filter. This gauge shall be able to monitor both prefilters and HEPA filter for proper maintenance intervals.
The unit shall include a non-resetable hour meter. 1 year warrantee shall be 9,000 hrs.
The unit shall include a LED light that provide fail-safe monitoring of the status of the Ultra Violet lights, ballast circuitry and full lamp on condition.
The unit shall have a hospital-grade power cord and plug.
The unit shall have a 5-amp fuse or circuit breaker and interlocking door switch.
The unit shall have an available option to replace the recirculating top with a simple ducted top to duct the unit airflow to other locations, such as when needed to create a negative pressure room. The top shall have a 10" round 1" high collar and an adjustable grate for air flow adjustment to recirculate clean air back into the room.
